We have to ask, “Why is the battle so fierce? Why is the contention so severe? Why so much intimidation? Why so much opposition? Why such accusation?” The answer is simple: the enemy is illegitimately occupying land that is yours for the taking. God has promised it to you, and He has given it to you.
All that the enemy has is time. Time to push us so hard that we become so weary, hopeless, faithless, and passive that we give up. That is his strategy. The only door that gives him direct entrance into our lives and keeps us from taking our territory is fear. That’s why the Bible repeatedly warns us against it.
Today, I want to encourage you to see the enemy before you. See him for who he is. What you’re going through is not only life being hard and things not working out as you hoped. You are facing an enemy that is holding territory that belongs to you, and he isn’t going to let go unless you evict him. It’s time to get that holy fire of anger burning in us, as David had in his soul when he saw the defeated, passive Israelites cowering before Goliath. You have a God who fights the battle for you. However, He supports and guides your hand as you throw the pebble. He undergirds you when you counter the enemy’s lies. This battle is in your mind - knowing that the victory is already yours and trusting God to lead you and fight for you.
It’s not a passive place to be in right now. It’s a place of restful trust and righteous anger—all at the same time. Rest in God’s sovereignty and have a not-letting-go attitude, as Jacob had. You are dealing with a territorial spirit that wants to intimidate you at every turn. Don’t fall for his tactics; it’s time to outwit him. You take your land by faith, by not giving up your trust and faith in the God who is faithful and true to His Word.
The Lord is giving us land that has been illegitimately occupied for generations. This is a time to recover what’s been lost over many generations. Do you understand why the contention is so severe? The enemy is losing his territory over bloodlines. God showed me a picture of Psalm 91 during the week, and He said, “Stay in the secret place, stay in the shadow of My wings. When you wander, you are at risk of the enemy’s attack. He doesn’t see you; he sees his territory being claimed back by you. My presence is all you need right now. In your tiredness, your weariness, stay in My presence… for in that place is your safety.”
